Hair Tips
Did you know your hair contains Protein?
Every strand of hair is made up of a protein called Keratin, which is also in your skin and nails. Protein is what gives our hair it’s structure and strength. Our hair is compromised when we do anything that is chemically or mechanically distressing to our hair; such as coloring, perming, using a hair dryer, flat iron or curling iron. Once we compromise the protein in our hair we need to replace it. Redken Extreme has just come out with a new technology called Interlock Protein Network (IPN). IPN brings protein to the core of the hair fiber for intensified internal strength and support. All the new Extreme products are formulated with IPN and a Fortifying Complex. The Fortifying Complex is designed to work with IPN. It offers a protective shine with 18-MEA to restore the lipid layer and resurface the cuticle and ceramide to enter the cuticle for targeted structural repair. The Extreme Line has all the products you need to rebuild the lost protein and moisture your hair is missing! Your hair will be 96% stronger! If you have ever used any hot tool on your hair or chemically changed your hair you need to be repairing the lost protein and you most likely need more moisture. Call us today to set up an appointment for a free consult and assessment of your hair and we can get your hair on the path to it’s full healthy potential.
What Cold weather does to your hair!
With every season comes changes including your hair. As the weather cools your hair should be getting warmer. That bleached out blond look should be left for summer when your skin has a natural tan. Once the weather cools, to better compliment your skin tone, your hair should have a warm tone to it. Copper reds, rich browns or honey blond really help warm your skin and keep you from that washed out look. As always use Color Extend Shampoo from Redken to help protect the color even though its cold out the sun is still out and will still fade your color. Once it gets colder your hair will also feel drier so be sure to keep it moisturized with good conditioners and products that help keep the moisture in. Also it will help to get regular trims throughout the winter months to help keep the split ends off and keep your hair looking healthy and soft throughout the winter.
